I can review and amend your existing website coding to improve the look and feel of your site by adding in new features and improving existing ones. This includes reviewing and amending XHTML, HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP coding. With the recent launch of HTML5 and CSS3, it is now also possible to create visually enhancing and animated features or videos for your website without the need for specific graphic design or the use of 3rd party plug-ins like Adobe Flash. I can discuss these options with you and make recommendations as to how your website can be quickly improved using these new technologies.
For brand new websites, there are important issues to consider at the development stage including whether you want a content management system integrated into your site, how to measure your website visitor traffic and which website hosting package is best for your website. Again I can advise on all these issues and make cost-effective recommendations.
The non-CMS option means that the website is built without an integrated Content Management System. The main advantage of this option is that the level of creativity for your website is unlimited as there are no constraints to the design that you sometimes have when working upon a CMS. These websites are coded using World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) industry standard XHTML and CSS either through hand coding or a web development editor like Adobe CS5 Dreamweaver. On-going content management (such as editing text on a web page or adding a new image to a page) is then managed by accessing the code directly and editing it. If this option is taken, you will need to ensure that you have access to a resource that understands how to edit the code. I can assist you here with my Content Management service.
The CMS option website is built in the same way as the non CMS option but it includes a Content Management system integrated within your website. This enables people who have no understanding of web development code to add, edit or delete content on the website using a content editor similar to Microsoft Word. An open source web development platform called Joomla is usually used by myself for this option. Joomla currently provides the framework for almost 3% of websites globally including The Economist.
If you would like the CMS option for your website, I will integrate your website with Joomla or another platform as part of the web development process and provide training to ensure that you know how to use it. Please note that this option does not guarantee that you can manage 100% of the content and you may still need support for some website amendments.
Having a website is all about driving visitors to your website and ultimately converting them into customers by purchasing products or services from you.
The website therefore needs to include a measuring system that allows you to measure your daily website traffic and segment this traffic into useful information. For example, the geographical location of your visitors or your website bounce rate which is the percentage of visitors who land on your home page and then leave your website without viewing another page!
All new websites can therefore include an integrated website traffic analytics tool called Google Analytics to enable you to run daily reports on your website traffic. Training on producing reports is also available.
Finally, I can offer you an attractive website domain name and hosting package to ensure that you website is made available on the internet in a secure and reliable environment under your chosen website name. The hosting service includes training on accessing and using your hosted service provider account to content manage your website.
